HAIR CARE

In the age of extreme dye jobs, haircuts, and perms, there is no doubt that one’s hair can get easily damaged. There are a few ways by which wrecked hair can be saved and revived, by adopting a few changes to regular hair care routine, and you can soon have shinier and healthier-looking hair. Before one embarks on a particular type of hair care routine, one must be aware of what one’s hair type is and choose an effective hair care routine accordingly.

We are all guilty of washing our hair with hot water at some point or the other. Hot water dries hair and damages the delicate skin on the scalp, which may be extra sensitive during the winter. It removes the natural oils from the scalp. Make sure to wash hair with cold water in hotter months and lukewarm water during colder months.

The ideal shampoo for thick, coarse, and curly hair is one that hydrates as well as cleanses the hair. In the case of fine hair, select a gentle shampoo and for hair with hair colour, avoid washing hair every day to prevent the colour from fading. If one is prone to greasy and oily hair, then use a little dry shampoo in between washes to soak up excess oil. Excess of dry shampoo can lead to build-up on the scalp and clog hair follicles. This can impede hair growth.

Hair can get damaged by heated tools, like straighteners, tongs, and hairdryers, so it is essential so hair must be given as much protection from heat as possible. Always use a heat protector. While drying the hair, ensure not to hold the hairdryer too close to the hair. Brush hair well with a wide-tooth comb and always keep your combs clean. Hair is as important as the skin, and one must not hesitate to invest in good quality products and tools. Do not forget to condition your hair. All this will leave your hair looking and feeling strong and healthy hair growth.
