10 Bollywood Divas Who Nailed The Colour-Blocking Trend
When it comes to pulling off exciting fashion trends, Bollywood divas are always at the top and can carry them off with ease. They are often seen sporting the latest runway-ready fashion trends and even repeating them in various new and different styles. One of these trends is color-blocking. To put it in simple words, color-blocking is the art of combining two or more bright shades that usually contrast on the color wheel. It’s quite a tricky trend as one wrong move can turn your outfit from daring to drab. But if you’re someone who’s always been interested in pulling this trend off, here are nine Bollywood divas who channeled this trend wonderfully:
1. Deepika Padukone
Deepika is often the queen of class and doesn’t make too many bold fashion decisions. And while we have nothing against her trusty grey pantsuits and LBDs, we have to say that it’s nice to see her indulge in color play. Her pink and red combo ensemble was a massive hit on the Emmy ‘19 carpet, and we have to say that she looks absolutely gorgeous. Her top looked both feminine and powerful, and we loved the paper bag waist striking red pants she chose to wear with it. The contrast in her look is what creates a good balance of colors.
2. Kriti Sanon
If you’re someone who’s experimenting with this trend for the first time, you can even opt for a more subtle look. You don’t have to wear a color-blocking look like separates, and you can try wearing it as a kurta and leggings instead. We love Kriti Sanon’s gorgeous purple kurta and yellow leggings as the colors complemented each other quite brilliantly.
3. Sara Ali Khan

Sara likes to play it safe and chose to opt for a more pastel look. We like how she paired her baby pink, short pleated skirt with lavender stilettos and a simple green tube top. To keep things fun, the Love Aaj Kal actress wore a fun floral blazer that consists of similar shades to her look.
4. Janhvi Kapoor
We love how well-balanced Janhvi’s ensemble is. The purple and white wrap dress works very well when paired with the bright neon belt, and we love how subtle and laid back her look is. The crimson-colored earrings and pointy pink stilettos complete her whole look with a level of finesse only this young diva can carry off!
5. Sonam Kapoor
When it comes to fashion, there’s no better name in the game than Sonam Kapoor. The fashion queen is known for channeling bold, beautiful, and brilliant outfits, and this one is a perfect example of it. We love how she kept the red incredibly subtle and went for such a striking contrast in colors. Pairing her red turtle neck with a white jacket and skirt worked perfectly well for Sonam, and we love how she topped it off with a cobalt-blue box-shaped bag. Also, we need to buy those red vinyl boots asap!
6. Rakul Preet Singh
Rather than choosing a pair of separates that are both of different shades, Rakul decided to opt for a unique and classic color-blocked dress. She looks like she came straight out of a Piet Mondrian painting, and we are so here for it!
7. Katrina Kaif
Who doesn’t love polka dots? We love how Katrina paired this black and white polka dot top with a mustard-colored (faux) leather skirt. The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actress chose to keep her accessories to a minimum, and it was clearly the right choice since her top is quite bold as it is. We also love the subtle makeup and the large hoop earrings that she chose to complete her whole look with. You can pair this look with either some solid-colored pumps or plain white ones.
8. Anushka Sharma
Anushka’s blue and green ensemble definitely is an eye-catcher! She paired her whole look with some bright yellow shades and a simple slicked-back middle part. Pairing this colorful look with some black boots is pretty great as there’s already a lot going on with the look.
9. Bhumi Pednekar
Bhumi Pednekar’s bold yet simple avatar is something that we could all emulate. We love how she paired the outfit with faux leather pants and a simple yet classy denim jacket. Her yellow heels just make the outfit look even better, and we definitely want to buy a pair for ourselves!
10. Kareena Kapoor Khan
Is there any look Bebo can’t rock? In this look, she paired a blue one-shoulder top with a shiny, neon green pencil skirt. She paired them with strappy, vinyl stilettos to make sure her outfit gets all the attention.
Sure, it can be scary to try something bold and new for the first time, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t! So what are you waiting for? Go give color blocking a try and tell us if you enjoyed wearing these outfits! Do tell us all of your thoughts on this article in the comment section below!
