Things Needed To Create The Look

  • Few Bobby Pins
  • Fine Tooth Comb

Step by Step Tutorial

Step1.

Begin by separating the hair at your crown area. Using a fine-tooth comb, tease the hair by slowly combing it toward your scalp

Step2.

With your fingers (or the wide-tooth end of the comb), smooth the hair to cover the teasing. Then secure that top section of hair, up at your crown, with a few bobby pins inserted horizontally.

Step3.

Separate a section of hair in front of one ear and twist it toward the back. Position the twist on top of the previously inserted pins to cover them. Insert a bobby pin or two into the twist to secure it. Repeat on the other side.

Step4.

Check the back of your style with a hand mirror and make sure all the bobby pins are covered. Stretch out the twists if you need to. Finish with a mist of hair spray.

If you want to give this style extra hold, you can use hairspray.

Styling Tips

  • What if your hair keeps falling out of the twist? If your hair keeps falling out, it’s probably too clean. You can use a little dry shampoo to add some grip to your hair. Alternatively you could use hairspray on the sections before you start to wrap them around.
  • What if your hair is curly? Then this style is going to look gorgeous! Curly or wavy hair is perfect for this type of updo, and your hair will hold really well. You probably won’t need any bobby pins at all.
  • What if you don’t have a small elastic? You should really go an get some. They are the best but if you have a big elastic, try and choose one to match your hair colour so it’s more easily hidden in the finished look.
