Magic of Janmashtami can be felt in air much before its arrival. It is the day to celebrate birth of Lord Krishna who is believed to be the eight incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

It is important to dress up you child the best on such days. Here are some simple tips to dress your little girl (see here for boys as Lord Krishna) as Radha. These tips will make sure that your daughter will love to dress up as Radha and look forward to Krishna Janmashtami 2019!

Lehenga choli or Ghaghra choli

If you have a nice traditional cotton finish lehenga choli or ghaghra choli at home, grab it and dress your daughter in this outfit. Ensure that the costume that you choose for this day is comfortable for kids, so try to make sure that the outfit is made from natural fabrics like silk or cotton.

Makeup

One of the most important points to remember when you dress your kids as Radha is to keep makeup to the minimum. Simply apply some kajal and a bindi. Do not force your child if she does not want to apply kajal.

Jewelry

Now that your daughter looks pretty in the traditional outfit, you may want to accessorize a little bit. Opt for pearl necklace, silver anklets and bangles matching with the outfit. Necklace and armlets made with flowers will also look pretty. Adorning the little one’s hair with jasmine flower will make your child look like an authentic Radha. Keep the jewelry light and skin friendly.

Mud pot

An earthen pot or matka will complete the look of your little Radha. Simply grab a small earthen pot and decorate it with golden ribbons and mirrors etc to form a perfect accessory for your little Radha.
